The 34-metre motor yacht has been designed in-house under the leadership of Chief of Design Jeff Leishman. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavn Yachts</a> is currently searching for a build facility, ideally within a European yard that specialises in steel construction. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/278320/image/large-805c0acf9909babe75b7f19fb10665ae.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/278320">The idea for this boat came when Leishman recognised a gaping difference between the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavn</a> 120 and its sistership closest in size, the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavn</a> 96, after the two models were docked alongside one another. “It was evident that we needed something in between,” he said.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/278322/image/large-c49840e841d3bb6e8c2ad122d18274b8.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/278322">The Nordhavn 120, the first of which is <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3488" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="My Aurora36.75m (120'7&quot;)Nordhavn Yachts2013">My Aurora</a> launched in 2013, offers owners a huge amount of autonomy, but can be intimidating for owners who have previously owned the Nordhavn 96 but are looking to go up in size. The yacht is also an interesting option for owners of larger boats who are looking to go down in size; “I think this design would be a perfect fit for anyone who has owned a large yacht with lots of crew and is looking to simplify things,” LeishmanThe yacht sits below the 400 GT mark and will need only a small crew of sixto operate. Like most <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavns</a>, it will be a full displacement hull with the capacity to carry enough fuel for transoceanic voyages. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavn</a> 112 will be built out of steel, however the superstructure could possibly be constructed of aluminium or even FRP. “Building the super structure of FRP is a bit easier since so much of the areas are simple, flat, plain surfaces so the amount of fairing is less and it goes very quickly,” he said.

After first releasing the model in 2018, Nordhavn has confirmed that the third unit of the 23.98-metre Nordhavn 80 is in production and is due to be completed in October 2021. Brushed brash is used on all fiddle rails and fixtures. The wet areas see a finish of Carrara marble,”&nbsp;he added.
